CHrissy SHammas : Wild Relatives
Perspective Gallery, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia
September 17th - December 19th, 2024
Through the support of the Native and Indigenous Alumni Society and Alumni Engagement at Virginia Tech, I had the honor of being invited back to my alma mater as a guest artist and speaker. In addition to my work being shown in the Perspective Gallery, I received a grant from the Diverse Voices and Perspectives Lecture Series, allowing me to be an artist in residence for homecoming weekend. I held a short lecture and led a wildlife photography workshop for students one evening, and held a longer 45 minute lecture detailing my work and the animals featured in it during the public reception on October 25th.
Many thanks to Jaik Tom for the video.
